THE RITZ. They made everything in house.....nothing out of cans. It is not that way any more. Also, the quality of the service has changed dramatically. The quiet, elegant ambiance is GONE. It is just another big, expensive hotel that gives you a piece of candy at night....and, you may get
your breakfast the next morning at the time you ordered the night before...and maybe not! If you want to experience what the Ritz really was, I suggest you go to Paris and stay there. That is what one would think a four or five star hotel should be. Fortunately, throughout my travels all over the world, my stays in real four and five star hotels has shown me exactly what first class service is. The next time you travel to New York....try the Carlyle at 35 East 76th Street.....that is the kind of service one expects of a hotel with a lot of stars. Or, go on down to Dallas and try The Mansion on Turtle Creek....again, first class all the way....in Chicago, try The Ambassador East with it's famed Pump Room. Without further ado, if you are looking for four or five star ambiance, food, service, etc.....The Ritz-Carlton Marriots "ain't got it no mo"!
This is just the opinion of one that has traveled all over the world for the last 35 years.
