This hotel was closed for renovations with the doors bolted shut when I visited NYC just after Thankgsiving. Perhaps major updates are in its future.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in August 2004. It was wonderful! The other 2 reviews must have had bad rooms for we had, what I thought, was a large room by NYC standards, over looking the cathedral. Furnishings were in fine shape. Would highly recommend this hotel

The lobby/restaurant areas live up the pomp and show that the Plaza is known for, but the rooms feel old and the furnishings look like they are in need of upgrade/renovation. Great location, but rooms are tiny. I think there are better options out there.

Definitely one of the best hotel locations in New York City. Right on the corner of Central Park South and 5th Avenue, next to all of the shopping. The hotel is grand from the outside, as the pictures show. The inside is equally grand, though the rooms are showing their wear for sure. There needs to be more upkeep and maintenance spent on the carpets, furniture, etc. Other than that, it's a great hotel.
