Gorgeous 2 bedroom suite overlooking the savanah. LONG walk from lobby/bus stop to room, but the view is worth it (at least the first couple of days). Typical Disney clean (best in the business), typical Disney service (bib), typical Disney themed decor (bib). AKL is quite farther from center of the Disney hub-bub than most other Disney hotels. Fantastic pool--one of the best, therefore there is no pool hopping (you must be a AKL guest)allowed. Concierge level isn't really worth the extra $$ unless you plan to spend you time at the hotel, and not at the parks. The restaurants are amazing, even the walk-up food counter has great offerings. A unique Disney hotel, gorgeous and a good value if you want upscale at value price, but FAR from most Disney parks, so maybe not the best bet if you are a die hard parker.

What an outstanding treat for empty-nesters! Don't waste this on the kids - they will just want to head to the parks. Only adults will truly appreciate the fun of getting up at midnight and peeking out the drawn curtains to see a giraffe munching away on some leaves. Returning at dusk to see the evening feeding and watch the sunset while enjoying a cool beverage is very relaxing. While you may think getting a room on the top floor will give you the best view, we checked out three different rooms (don't forget an extra tip to the bellperson) before deciding the lower floors offer the biggest thrill - almost eye level with the giraffes and close enough to see birds and small animals in the brush.
